HomePath "Ready Buyer" For First Time Home Buyers
First Time Home Buyers are usually closer to being able to afford a home than they think. The most common factor that stops First Time Home Buyers from buying is not being able to save for a down payment and closing costs. Fannie Mae now offers a great opportunity for First-Time Home Buyers that gives them up to 3% credit for closing costs. The program is called HomePath "ReadyBuyer". There are few requirements needed in order to qualify to receive this closing assistance. Below are some details on the requirements.
- Buyer must complete HomePath "Ready Buyer" online course (4-6 hours long) and receive certificate.
- Buyer's Realtor has to request the closing costs assistance when initially submitting the offer and submit course certificate as well.
- Buyer must be a First-Time Home Buyer (did not own a property in the last 3 years).
- Must be a primary residence.
- The property must be listed on HomePath.com and be eligible for the closing cost assistance.
To use this program you still have to qualify for a loan as you would when buying any other property.
